World authority on Attelabidae and Rhynchitinae weevils. Received MS and Ph.D. from The Ohio State University with Dr. B.D. Valentine and Dr. D.J. Borror. Professor Hamilton retired from Loyola University in 2013 where he taught and did scientific research for 43 years. His private collection of New World weevils was donated to the Field Museum of Natural History (FMNH) in Chicago.
